What's on your heart and mind today?

I am sharing my story with you and i am not asking for help either,I am a single dad and I have 4 kids, 2 of them are in college doing very well, the other 2 are not working at the present, being a dad and having a good job trying to help my kids every possible way, i am in the poor house,I have been saving for years for the days when i retire and may be enjoy my golden years, now those dreams i had for years start to evaporate fast, I am hoping to see that lite at the end of the tunnel, but so far it's not there, how many parents especially single ones are in the boat as I.

Immigration

Last weekend a friend of mine and I decided to go to the country and get some fresh veggies and fruit.

After we arrived we started to look to buy some veggies and fruit, and there was a man trying to get a job in that farm, this man looked like he didn't have any food in few days and he had better days in his life.

But the thing that amazed me as I stopped to listen and watched the owner of that farm refusing to hire him which is (his right to do so) most of his emplyees are illegal alliens.

Now that hit home very bad, here we are we have an american citizen looking to earn some money, but he couldn't get any emloyment because the owner of that farm would rather hire illegal alliens and pay them alot less, may be below minimum wage, for that farm owner he is making a lot more money and hiring illegal alliens to do so.

I am not sure what the law is, but that's very bad when our or some of our busuness would rather hire illegals and leave our neighbors and american citizens out on the street starved, i don't know about the rest of you, but that's too much for me to handle.

Of course my big mouth couldn't and wouldn't just see an american man trying to get a job to live on, and only god knows if he had a family he has to feed, refused a job on american soil and that job is given to total illegals.

Now I can guarantee you if we were in foriegn land and looking for work, we wouldn't be able to get that job, that job will be given to someone of thier own, WHY we can't do the same and take care of our own.

And the answer is no way we would buy anything from that farm.

God help us all, what's going on in this country???

New York State

As a New York resident starting to wonder if living in this state actually is worth it anymore?

When I received my pay check last week, I noticed the normal amount is less than I used to receive normally, when I asked payroll why I am getting less money, I was informed (taxes) went up , depressing!

Our taxes are out of control in this state, fuel cost is one of the most expensive in the country, not to mention our utilities, and they are also very expensive.

The state is cutting back on everything and taxing everything they can , the schools budgets is being cut, as a matter of a fact ,some of the public schools in Niagara county may have to close their doors for good, and some people may have to lose their jobs, let’s just put more people on welfare!

Our brand name cigarettes are over $8 a pack, I have to work 2 jobs just to keep up, and i can't do that for much longer, my body is getting beat up and i am getting older.

What bothers me too, it's not enough we are taxed beyond our abilities to keep paying so much taxes and utilities, I have to cut back on groceries in the winter time just to be able to pay my utilities and put fuel in my truck, so I can keep on working and keep paying my taxes, and speaking of taxes, our genius governor decided to keep the tax refunds for 30days or so, why this idiot doing that to the tax payers.

But the welfare recipients get pretty much everything handed to them, I recently read in the paper that there are hundreds of people every year move to New York state just to receive welfare, it's the easiest and the most generous in the country, it's a great way to keep the state in billions of dollars in the negative, the working families are moving out to different states and the welfare recipients are moving in to collect welfare.

God help us all, three of my kids are moving out of state because they can't afford living here anymore.

I have no problem with people who need financial help till they get back on their feet, but making a career out of it , that's not right, wake up politicians, we are losing our jobs and homes because you are taxing us to hell.

What's on your heart and mind today?

Because of recent economy problems , lots of people started to post and ask for help, especially around the holiday season, it got to the point we don't even know who really does need the help, and i personally stopped reading any post from any one around the holiday season, i know poeple looked for poeople who needed help in thier community and helped them, we know lots of people could have used the help in this great country , it's very hard to tell who is genuine and is not.
